The Organization
Child Evangelism Fellowship, also known as CEF®, is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to share the good news with children and to establish (disciple) them in the local church for Christian living. CEF has over 1200 staff overseas, approximately 1000 of whom are nationals. CEF work in Israel was started in 1948, with the national center located in Nazareth since 1966. It is recognized as an "amuta" (non-profit organization).
Historical Perspective
CEF was founded by Jesse Irvin Overholtzer in 1937. The ministry has grown into the largest evangelistic outreach to children in the world. CEF is currently ministering in over 155 countries worldwide and in every state in the U.S.
Present Situation & Future Vision
CEF has different types of evangelistic programs, designed to bring the Gospel of Christ to children on their level and in their environment. Along with Good News Clubs, CEF also has fairs, summer camps, open-air clubs (5-Day Clubs), and telephone and correspondence outreach programs for children.
